This couple is humbly bowing in a prayerful stance as they ask for their bountiful daily blessing. This portrayal is a testimony to the true trials of the early American farming couple. I am sure that this young man and woman could represent many of our great grandparents and what they faced in the fields each day. This album is in particularly wonderful condition. It has little to nothing to complain about, a corner bump is the worst to mention but no cracking, crazing or structural damages to the celluloid. The cover is in marvelous condition and the colors are bright and cheerful with striking irises in the earth tones, as shown. These photos are very good and show you exactly what you will receive as far as color depth and decorative features. The colors of the irises are deep and crisp and the corners of the album are beautifully embossed with the flowers looking to be hand painted. The central theme has a gorgeous border and the remainder of the florals are on a medium silver background tone. The cover of this album is in extra clean, well kept condition and I rarely find them any nicer. The original hardware is bright and shiny and the clasp is in excellent working order. The outer exterior page edges still maintain a fair amount of their gold gilt. The album is strong and stable, it looks like it's been stored away for a long time. I'm finding it hard to find even minimal flaws on this album. Although this is a sturdy album, it is not as heavy as some are, it carries more of a medium weight.
The spine is covered with a wine burgundy velveteen type of fabric and except for a small smudge of dirt or something at the top edge, it looks nearly flawless. The binding is tight and the pages are well attached. The interior is well represented in the photo above. There are the typical slot tears but the album's interior is basically very nice. It's 14 pages will accommodate 24 photos at 4 by 6 inches and there are spaces for 16 smaller photos in the back of the album. The backside of the album is covered in coordinating celluloid with iris flowers. The back cover is stunning and suffers no significant flaws, just a couple bruises or small wear on the tips of the corners. This antique celluloid photo album measures 10 inches in height by 8¼ in width and is 1½ inches thick. This is an endearing scenic celluloid photo album which represents are American farming heritage and it comes in a condition that is very desirable for it's next owner.
