Vintage Royal Tudor Ware Large Chintz Tray

I've acquired a few pieces of vintage chintz and I am happy to offer you this wonderful large serving tray or dessert platter.

Royal Tudor Ware was produced by the Barker Brothers during the 1930's and this pattern, known as Lorna Doone, is especially pleasing.

 

     

Vintage English chintz is a favorite amongst collectors and this generously sized tray will make a great addition to your treasured table accessories or a marvelously thoughtful gift.  I love this pattern, but especially this piece in particular, because the addition of birds and butterfly are not over stated like some pieces that carry  this pattern.  There are only two birds and one butterfly, just the right touch of nature interspersed between the branches of roses and florals.  The background tone is a bright, stark white, some photos are not showing this well.  All of the blue flowers are a littler deeper in tone and the outer edge is banded with a nice green border.  The colors on this tray are really delightful, I know you will appreciate the pattern.

     

The piece is in excellent condition, no regrets, no damages.  There are a couple of tiny scratches detected when tipping the tray to the light just right, nothing naughty at all and one little rough dot that was not smoothed down, typical in chintz production and is not distracting in the least.  The back of the tray has it's blurred marked, exactly as shown. This tray measures 11 inches in diameter, will serve your double layer cake, party hor'dourves or appetizers, it could even be used as a dresser tray.  This is a lovely piece from the past, please consider ordering it today.
