My photos show the depth of colors very well, it is quite striking with the hand painted brush strokes evident and raised dotted detailing. The big bold rose is accompanied with equally vibrant broad green leaves and accented over with a lily of the valley spray of stems. The dome shaped insert is well decorated and showing some fading to the three additional gold gilt background leaves, they are very evening faded so I'm not sure if that was the intentional design. The porcelain is damage free and barely even has a small scratch.
The silver toned metal framing and handle are especially pretty and do have very subtle brass tones hear and there, mostly on the handle, although not overly noticeable. The heavily embossed florals are reminiscent of the Victorian era and the swirling lines exemplify the Art Nouveau period. The outer scalloped rim is a fabulous addition to this already splendid hand mirror. This hand mirror has been cleaned and polished for your future enjoyment and shows beautifully. The original beveled mirror exhibits a clear image, is in overall very nice condition with the expected few scratches. This gorgeous hand mirror measures 10 in length by 5 & 3/4 in width and has a 5 inch viewing surface. It's a lovely vanity accessory for the lady of the house, she will be pleased with this marvelous antique treasure for adorning her dresser top and it is so very usable as well.
