As you can see, the design is wonderful and covers a great portion of the porcelain. The bouquets of violets are full and colorful and the lavender ribbons create the ideal ornament for the violets. The porcelain on many of these hand mirrors are dome shaped but the porcelain on this hand mirror is a bit more flattened. The brass tone framing and handle are heavily embossed with a stunning Art Nouveau floral design, dating this hand mirror to around 1900. Everything is very secure and the outer rim has that gorgeous scalloped border. All of the metal has been cleaned and polished, it is now free of it's 100+ years of hand grime and tarnish, it is stunning. The original mirror was in poor condition so I replaced it with a perfectly clear mirror, it has a nice deep beveled outer edge, just like the original. This vanity hand mirror measures the standard size at a bit over 9 inches in length and has a 5 inch viewing surface. The condition is marvelous, I couldn't notice any scratches but there is a very small dent at the side of the handle, really not significant at all. This lovely antique vanity hand mirror will find a special place amongst your treasured dresser accessories or it will make for a very thoughtful gift for that special someone.
