Click Here For More Hand Mirrors & Vanity Sets   Wow, what a fabulous looking treasure for your vanity or dresser top.  Spectacular antique Victorian porcelain hand mirror with the best still life artwork I've acquired. I am simply enamored by this late 1800's dresser accessory. Never before have I seen such a delightful floral presentation as on this antique porcelain hand mirror.

My photos are very good, showing the large oversized basket, spilling with gorgeous yellow daisies and an approaching butterfly. The background color  is a bit more pale plum/lavender in tone, the soft yellow sky seems to glow with the sun and there are a few clouds before the small area of pale blue sky. The artistry is a combination of transfer decoration and hand applied paint. There are raised details to the petals of the daisies and the weave of the basket that affords this scene some added dimension. The artwork is wonderful, in excellent condition, I am in love with it and the porcelain is damage free, I can barely even see a tiny scratch under magnification. Some of the raised white paint, on the petals, has a little aging, but truly this hand mirror looks divine, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it.

The butterfly adds a distinctive attribute to the scene, there are so few of these antique porcelain hand mirrors that included a butterfly in the artwork, how utterly adorable.  The signed German Silver metal work on this piece is equally as desirable, with a fancy outer rim that has but only a few tiny minor dents and a Victorian handle that boasts a cute little cherub in the lower section. The framing and handle continues to maintain some of it's original gold gilt, giving the piece a soft two-toned glow that presents itself very well. The original beveled mirror is very clear and in excellent antique condition with no significant flaw to mention. This hand mirror measures the standard size of approx. 9¼ in length with a 5 inch viewing surface but in no way can it be considered standard.  This striking porcelain back antique hand mirror should please it's new owner with it's cheerful Springtime persona. Please consider decorating your vanity with this extremely pleasant treasure or give it as a thoughtful gift to the "Daisy" in your life.
