The artwork is quite pleasing with the daylilies in the tones of lavender maroon, that is, being more lavender than maroon and snowy white. There is a good assortment of both full blossoms and buds, as well as a generous amount of leaves and greenery. The porcelain backs are in wonderful condition, no cracks, chips or negative flaws and the pure white background emphasizes the bouquet beautifully.
The brass toned metal rims and handles have been polished to a nice golden sheen, they display very nicely, however, there is a little tarnish in the deeper crevices but not as dark as what you see in the photos. The handles are beautifully embossed with Victorian roses and trailing vines. The rim of the hand mirror has denting and distortion to the upper edge, as shown in my photos, very minor rim dent on the brush. It's not overly bad, in my opinion, I've certainly seen worse and the fine quality artwork overshadows this flaw. The hair brush, with nicely aged complete bristles, is a great match to the hand mirror and although I advertize the brush for decorative use only, it's a terrific accompanying vanity accessory to have.
The original beveled mirror provides a very good clear image, with only very minor aging to the silver backing, nothing intrusive, this mirror will serve you for decades to come. You can see our dining light fixture in the reflection, for clarity sake.
