 My photos are showing the metal and filigree workmanship very well but they are not doing justice to the glass jewels. All of the stones are bright and twinkling, no dull or darkened stones at all and much more emerald green than would photograph. The stones are in very good to excellent condition with just a little rubbing on the large center stone of the brush and a tiny bitty nick on the center stone of the mirror, you'll have to look very closely to see this, it's hard to notice. The brassy bronzy casings are in excellent condition. The handles are showing some wear to the coloring, more so on the hand mirror, as it was used more than the brush. 
The natural bristles of the brush are soundly set into a wood base which is secured in place with little brass brads. The bristles are all intact and relatively clean considering the age of this set, again, I don't see where the brush was used very much. I'm showing you lots of photos so you can see all the wonderful depth and elegant characteristics of this set. It's sturdy and strong, showing no weaknesses or damages that I detect. 
 The top of the mirror is accentuated with an elaborate ribbon bow. The center filigree overlay is sensational on both pieces. All of the metal everywhere has some sort of design, it's really lovely. This set is not skimpy, the mirror measures 11 & 1/2 in length by 4 & 1/2 in width by 1/2 inch thick. The brush is proportionate at 9 & 1/4 long by 2 & 3/4 in width. The original beveled mirror shows a very clear image with only tiny signs of aging and offers a viewing surface of 5 & 1/4 by 4 inches wide, very nice size. This sophisticated vanity hand mirror and brush set is looking for a place amongst your treasured dresser accessories. I know someone will be delighted to own this exceptionally fine vanity set.
