The three piece set is complete and the hole at the bottom of the jar indicates it was made to hold a condensed can of milk. The can of milk fits into the jar, use your finger to push the can up, making it accessible for pouring. Put the can back into the jar, cover it up and you have an elegant table accessory. It is amazing to me the amount charming table accessories that were available during the late Victorian era and early 1900's. Condensed milk sets have become highly sought after and collector's esteem to add one more to their collection. This set carries the early and desired RC Nippon mark, a favorite amongst collectors. This example is gracefully decorated with an elaborate gold gilt pattern of leaves and berries, as well as lots of raised gold beaded accents. This one will arrive in splendid antique condition, looking unused, with little if any wear that I detect. The overall set sits about 6 inches tall, including the top finial, by 5 & 1/2 inches from handle to handle and the saucer has a 6 & 1/4 inch diameter. The six sided mold design is especially interesting, adding more character and dimension to the set. This set is in superb antique condition, no crack, chips, repairs, etc..., very well preserved. Please consider adding this Nippon condensed milk set to your favored porcelain pieces, I know it will dress up your china cabinet with style. Item 5-57 F Sold, Thank you!
