It comes from the Johann Haviland Factory of Waldershof, Bavaria which opened in 1907 and was sold in 1924. My photos show the coloring very well but it is much more eye-catching close-up. The artist shows talent and has captured the beauty of the roses against a background border of soft pastel pink. The center arena is highlighted in a soft shade of minty green that is not showing well in the photos. The outer perimeter edge is gracefully gilded in gold and the platter is in very fine condition, no damages or paint loss, simply splendid. 
This platter is a nice rectangular size, measuring 15 in length by 10 1/2 in width and rises 1 1/2 inches allowing for a generous depth to the well. Although I could not find an exact reference in my marks books concerning either of the two back stamps, it's quite clear that the piece is close to 100 years old. Not only does the rear of the piece exhibit sure signs of age but only the very early pieces were hand painted on the rear border, as shown in photo #6. This piece will add elegance to your hand painted porcelain treasures, it is magnificent, no disappointments here.
