The medium sized cut and faceted beads are flawless, the tone of blue is radiant with an all over glisten. There is no damage whatsoever on this purse nor any previous repair. The beadwork is hand knit in a paneled pattern. The upper edge folds over, adding the dimension of a beaded band, laced with looped fringes. The purse is crowned with one of the more unusual Art Nouveau frames I have seen, a rather large and robust oval shape, appearing to be silver plated. The top design is utterly divine boasting traditional Art Nouveau florals on lattice, all highly embossed. There is a small area of wearing to the silver plating at the left side of the top. It looks like a shadow in the photo and in person, it looks like a little tarnish on the lid. I have done my best to clean this entire purse, it will not get cleaner, it is in very fine condition and this small age wear should not distract from this very rare frame. The interior lid maintains it's original mirror. It shows a clear image as well as some small appropriate signs of it's age. The frame has a nice sturdy hinge along with a push in to open button. I don't think this purse was carried much because the clasp shuts nice and snug as if it were hardly used. The outer sides of the frame are also etched in multi floral designs, as shown in the photo of the hinge. The interior has it's original blue fabric lining, cleaned and refreshed for your future enjoyment. It is well attached to the frame and the top edge is bordered in coordinating blue beads, a very pretty accent. This is a roomy purse for it's age and will carry all you will need for a successful evening out. The bottom of this purse is finished with a fully knitted ball and fringes. My photos are showing all of the great characteristics of this extraordinary dance purse, including the front and rear. The purse hangs from the original chain handle and is well secured to it's finial. This wonderful purse measures as follows: 7½ inches from the top edge of the frame to the bottom of the body of the bag, the ball and fringe is 3½ inches for a total of 11 inches in length. The top of the frame is 5 by 3 with a ½ inch depth, the mirror surface is 3½ by 2 inches and the chain drops 6 inches. I find no damage to this purse, everything looks perfect, save for a little silver plate wear but nothing too naughty at all. I love this purse, the color is fabulous and the frame is a winner. I have never seen one of these oval frames before, you will adore adding it to your treasury of purses.
