Judging by it's size, style elements, workmanship and decorative frame, I would say this petit point coin purse was European made during the approx. 1930 - 1940 era. Although I find no markings on this purse, surely it is from Austria or perhaps France. You'll notice in the photo of the interior, there looks to be area of the lining, close to the center of the frame that is amiss, under magnification, it looks like there may have once been a label and sadly someone cut it off. I wouldn't be surprised if this was made by Maria Stransky of Austria, as the quality is of high degree. It is made from the finest if silk threads and the stitches are minute, very tiny, with at least 1600 to the square inch. What sets this coin purse aside from others are the two different figural scenes, one being on each side of the purse. The color palettes are quite extensive, covering a full spectrum of tones and the scenes are charming, as they vary greatly in theme. The small amount of background color is jet black and can be seen only at the farthest outer edges. The side and bottom gusset appears to be a jet black ribbed fabric, which has a soft subtle sheen, all in pristine condition. This micro petit point change purse will arrive to you in superbly, well kept condition, looks like it just sat in a drawer for the duration of it's life. Both the interior and exterior of this vintage coin purse are securely constructed, the interior is lined with a soft ivory satiny fabric. All elements are well attached to the frame and the frame is especially golden bright and wonderfully enhanced with raised detailing. There are no signs of usage, no flaws that I can detect. This is one of the more splendid petit point coin purses I have had the pleasure of offering. Stuffed with tissue, it measures a wee 3 inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom, 4 inches wide across the bottom, 3 inches across the hinges and it has a side and bottom depth of ⅞ of an inch. This little beauty is simply fabulous and if you enjoy collecting small treasures from the past, you will adore this figural scenic dual sided micro petit point change purse. If you want it, speak up quickly before it is gone, it could be a long time before I find another as nice and in such marvelous condition.
