My photos are reasonably good, however, you can expect this purse to look much nicer in person. The very small background bead is a bright ivory but not quite white. The beadwork in intricately infused with some of the most imaginative Tambour embroidery, executed in the Point de Beauvais stitch. The pattern exhibits the artistry of the Art Nouveau period with a hint of the Art Deco era. The colors are especially pleasing to the eyes. The soft yet distinct pastels are oh so amazing, blending into one another, creating a pattern that will impress it's new owner. The Wedgewood blue color that is showing in the center of the purse is actually more of a lavender tone. Overall, the color palette is very soft, as well as the hand or feel of the purse. There is a lot of marvelous design on this purse, very well detailed, the talent of the embroiderer is quite evident. The purse is rich in dimension and character. All together, the details are quite extraordinary, a gorgeous and intricate work of art. These two close-up photos show each side of the purse. Because this is a hand made purse, you will find small differences in the embroidery and positioning of color from one side of the purse to the other, as you will detect in the photos. It's been many years since I have found one of these smaller heavily embroidered purses in the condition I prefer: no damages, no obvious missing beadwork, snags, stains or negatives, just a valuable little treasure from the past that will add interest and intrigue to any collection. The golden tone frame is shining and bright, although it is simplistic in design, it does not compete with the purse for attention, all eyes will be on the workmanship, as it should be. Structurally, the frame opens and closes properly with a tight snap and the hinges are solid. One side of the frame, at the top edge, has an ever so slight bend, but in no way detracts from this beauty, nor does it compromise the integrity of the frame. The entire purse is secure to the frame at all points and has been professionally cleaned for your future enjoyment. Attached to the frame is a French style chain handle that drops the purse by 3¾ inches. The interior is lined with it's original ivory fabric and sports a labeled pocket, all looking to be barely used. This lovely and exquisite French made petite evening bag, stuffed with tissue, measures 4½ inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom by 5¾ inches across the frame. I'm showing the side and bottom, as to distinguish it's depth, this is a delicate purse and will carry only the bare essentials. If you adore smaller vintage purses, you won't be disappointed in this one, it's wonderful, clean, totally preserved, fully intact and colorful, let me know and I'll put it aside for you, and oh yes, the last photo shows the purse very well.
