I don't typically purchase Czech purses with a zipper but when I discovered this one in a private Ohio collection, I knew it was an elusive and special find. In all the years, I have neither acquired one nor seen one of these figural Czech mini handbags from the late 1920's to the early 1930's. Clearly the detail is illustrative of the Art Deco era and overall this purse is a sweetie pie. It has a clean, fresh, bright exterior with a background of white seed beads. Milky white and silvery glass beads arrange the design with faux pearls for her hair and dark silvery clear bugle beads form the V-shape in her dress. This purse has been well cared for. The faux pearl hair is slightly different on each side, one side showing a bit more wear to the pearls, as shown in photo #4. The zipper works as it should. The beaded handle is secure and complete. The original lining, pocket and label are fully intact. The lining does show some general discolor from age and use, but it does not effect the clean exterior beadwork in any way. This little treasure measures about 4 3/4 or so in diameter, the beaded handle drops about 2 inches. It will carry a small compact, credit card and license. It's a terrific piece to add to your purse collection. It is in very good condition, wee if any bead loss, nothing apparent. I find no reason not to love it. Let me know and I'll tuck it away for you. Item 4-109 B9 $225.00 Now $165.00 Make an Offer Continue Shopping for Scenic Beaded Purses Question or Purchase: antiquepeek@charter.net (413-592-4489)
