This antique Limoges tray is very sweet with a slight kidney shape, measuring 12 1/2 diagonally by 7 5/8 inches wide. The delicate floral spays and shadings include blue, pink, green and lavender, the artist included their initials, M.L.B., as shown. The hair receiver continues to be a popular piece, this one is Bavarian in origin. It is the match to the tray and measures 2 3/4 tall by 4 1/2 at the widest. Both pieces are enhanced with gold gilt highlights, the tray shows some rubbing of the interior band, however, lots of gilt remains intact. The last photo shows the set with a pair of elegant and tall Limoges candlesticks, sold separately. They were purchased with the vanity set and believed to be matching pieces by the auctioneer. I also thought they were matching until I was taking pictures and discovered, to my surprise, a different artist signature. It just goes to show that pieces can be found that match very well. The candlesticks are listed in the Limoges category, let me know if you have interest. The dresser set is about 90 years old and will look beautiful atop your vanity.
