Fabulous Flow Blue Chamber Pitcher Bowl Set

<<<< Back to Porcelain from England

I am happy to offer you this gorgeous Flow Blue chamber pitcher and water basin set in the stunning and elusive HURON pattern.

It carries the F. Winkle & Co. "Colonial Pottery" mark, Stoke England, this mark was used between 1890 - 1925.

Although I couldn't find this pattern in my Flow Blue book, I found two other F. Winkle & Co. Flow Blue patterns, TOGO, which has the same mark as this set, and RUDYARD.  The HURON pattern is absolutely gorgeous, I believe after close scrutiny that it is most likely hand painted, the depth of the blue is deep and has a wonderful contrast against the bright white background.  I am showing lots of photos so you can see how lovely this pattern is with it's stunning florals, delicate bows and the influence of the Art Nouveau era is prevalent.  I wish my photos could show you all of the terrific mold details on what appears to be semi porcelain.  These pieces have the typical extra fine glaze crazing that is indicative of this type of porcelain and it's age but you have to look closely to see the crazing, as it is not that obvious.

The set is in very, very good to excellent condition.  I had to search long and hard to find a small tight age line, about 2 inches in total length, it runs over the top lip of the bowl, pictured above.  It is very difficult to notice and a short line, like this, is generally considered minimal and quite acceptable for Flow Blue.  Otherwise, this set is fantastic, with a perfect pitcher, no real stains anywhere, chips, cracks, issues or other problems.

The size is to be admired with the pitcher standing nearly 12 in height, it bulges 8 inches across the body, from spout to the side arch of the handle is 10 inches and the mouth is 7 inches wide.  The bowl is well proportioned, it measures a large 16 inches in diameter and sits 5 inches in height.  The entire set makes an impressive presentation and will be greatly admired by the lover of blue and white.  This is a radiant pitcher and water basin set, it will look outstanding as a decorative accent in your favorite room or filled with a dried arrangement.
