My photos are showing a very good depiction of the colors, theme and character of this vanity hand mirror, please excuse any light reflections. There are several shades of dusty lavenders on the violets as well as detailed green leaves. Although the artwork is a transfer, it was applied in such a way as too resemble brush strokes. The slightly domed shape porcelain and the florals are in very good condition, no cracks or damages and little, if any, problems with the paint. The brass plated metal rim is dent free and has a delicate detailed saw-toothed inner edge. The embossed handle is especially pretty with lots of deep Victorian designs. I have cleaned and polished the metal to the best possible look, there is a little brass plated wear here and there, primarily to the backside but this vanity hand mirror presents itself well. The original beveled mirror is in very nice clear condition with a little minor fogging in the lower area where the handle attaches, nothing that is distracting or interferes with it's usefulness. The piece measures 9½ inches in length and the viewing surface is 3½ in width by 5¼ in length. It is a wonderful example of a late 1800's porcelain backed hand mirror that you are sure to adore and love using every day. If violets are your choice of flower, please consider giving this treasure from the past a new home.
