I picked up a few light reflections in some of my photos, I had a difficult time getting the colors to show exact, so some of the photos are in daylight by the window and others are under artificial lighting. The brighter photos by the window are showing the color palette very well. I've offered many floral hand mirrors through the years but these violets are so charming. Under magnification, the artwork appears to be hand painted, as I can detect some brush strokes. The artwork is in very fine condition, it took a magnifying glass to find any slight imperfections. The porcelain back is in damage free condition and is very secure to it's metal framing. Overall, this hand mirror is in exceptional condition with really no complaints or negatives. 
The rim and handles are my favorite style, extremely Victorian looking with highly detailed embossed decorations and roses. The outer rim has a lovely pierced edge and is clearly marked German Silver (nickel silver), another favorite of mine, which allowed me to polish up this hand mirror to resemble sterling silver. The original beveled mirror was distorted so I replaced it with a quality perfect beveled mirror, just like the original. When the porcelain back was exposed, I discovered this delightful William Guerin Limoges back stamp which dates this hand mirror to around 1901. It is an added treat to find a signed porcelain hand mirror, although most are from France or Germany, only about 25% of them are signed, at least that is what I've found through my 20+ years of experience with them. There is nothing standard about this hand mirror save for it's size, approx. 9¼ by 5¼ with a 5 inch viewing surface.
