The color blue is one of the hardest colors to photograph properly, at least it is for me but I think my pictures are very close to the actual tones. As you can see, the entire background is painted in a lovely shade of blue and hand decorated with a lush bouquet of forget-me-nots. The centers of the flowers are accentuated with little tiny raised dots of white enamel along with a flat orange dot, a very attractive presentation. There is also a sprig of greenery here and there, they add the perfect touch to this gorgeous work of art. Under magnification, I discover some minor darkening to the raised white dots and a faint scratch on the blue background, both of these issues are not readily visible to the eye. The porcelain suffers from no damages and the artwork is excellent. The original beveled mirror is clear when looking into it but shows some early signs of faint fogging when pulled away from the face. I find that it remains very usable with plenty of life remaining. The golden brass framing depicts the Art Nouveau era and it is patent dated as shown, June 13, 1905. The brass rim has some small denting at the outer edge and is extra thick with a raised border for the mirror to rest upon, protecting the mirror very well, which probably accounts for why there are so few scratches. The brass handle is embossed with matching forget-me-nots, it is in secure, dent free condition. This hand mirror measures the standard size of 9½ inches in length with a 5 inch viewing surface. This striking porcelain back antique hand mirror should please it's new owner with it's cheerful Springtime flowers. If blue is your favorite color, you will not be disappointed.
