The porcelain back is transfer decorated in sumptuous and expressive pink lavender apple blossoms with additional florals and greenery. My photos do a great job of depicting the correct color tones which are presented on a bright white background. Both the porcelain and the art work are in splendid form, no damages, no paint loss and little, if any, scratching to the porcelain. Slightly dome shaped, this shaving hand mirror measures nearly 6 inches in diameter, ¾ of an inch wider than the standard porcelain backed mirror and has a viewing surface of 5¾ inches. The size is perfect, especially for shaving, when more viewing is desired.
The brass outer rim is not badly distorted at all but it does have a scattering of dents and dings of various degree. Nothing really naughty, just what I typically see on these antique dresser pieces. The brass loop shaped handle is in great form and has both Victorian and Art Nouveau embossed designs, making this a transitional era piece and superb for using as wall art. The original beveled mirror shows a nice clear image and has only a few scratches or normal age related usage marks, nothing that interferes with it's usability or clarity. The total overall length of this hand mirror is nearly 8 inches from the tip of the handle to the other end. If you have never added one of these shaving style hand mirrors to your antique treasures or you have never seen one, please consider this antique bedroom or bathroom fashion accessory today, as they do not come along very often.
