The photos show the fabulously large roses very well and depict their true condition. The background color is bright white and the leaves appear more alive than in the photos. The 5 inch mirror image is perfectly clear and has a nice wide bevel at the edge. The hand mirror measures the standard size of 9+ inches long with the brush being proportionate. 
 The styling of the brass handles is influenced by the Art Nouveau era and dates the set to ca. 1900. The outer metal rims are secure, there are several small dents to the outer edge, primarily on the hand mirror. The brush bristles are set in a wood base and are showing their natural aging, as expected, but they don't look quite as dark as in the photo. Overall, this is a splendid vanity set, stunningly attractive, you will surely love it, it is one of the more dynamic sets I've acquired.
