First, let me say how unhappy I am with these photos, they just don't do the set justice. This wonderful vanity mirror and brush set comes from the very late 1800's and depicts a popular theme from that era. The raised Jasper portraits are simply charming with a rather voluptuous lady, swept up in the clouds, being kissed by a cherub. Both pieces display the same portraits, they are in very nice condition, no apparent chips, cracks or problems that I notice, just some very slight age appropriate specks in the very deepest crevices, barely noticeable. The color of the blue was very difficult to capture but it is the traditional lighter Jasper blue, showing best in the photos that display the brush, the hand mirror is perhaps a shade or two deeper in tone than the brush, I had a horrible time with my camera, it would not cooperated at all with this color. 
 The outer perimeter of both pieces are further enhanced with a decorative Jasper border, there are differences in the design of the border from one piece to the other. The brush being narrower in size accommodates a smaller outer border. The handles have those sweet embossed Victorian roses and all the metal has been cleaned and polished for your future enjoyment. Each piece is signed German Silver, making this set very easy to keep shining like sterling, if desired. The brush bristles are fabulous, all intact into a wooden base, clean and looking barely, if at all used. The original mirror was quite cloudy and dark so I replaced it with a quality clear mirror, it has a wide bevel at the edge just like the original. The hand mirror measures 9¼ in length by 5 in width, the brush is proportionate but a little smaller than the mirror. The condition of the set is wonderful for it's age, no damages to the Jasperware backs, no significant or apparent wear, not even any dents on the rims or handles, just a very nice antique set, beautiful with little, if any, tiny flaws. I believe you will agree, when you see this set, that it is indeed, a fine figural hand mirror brush set and these Jasperware vanity accessories are getting too hard to find. With holidays and birthdays approaching, it would make for a delightful gift.
