This is a marvelous micro petit point cigarette
case that is the perfect size for carrying your business cards, credit or debit
cards, license or paper money.
From the 1930 - 1940 era, this case was made by
hand in Germany and portrays one of the most vibrant floral displays I have seen
on a case of this style. |

These tiny little micro silk threads incorporate 1600 stitches to the square inch and they are positioned on a jet black background thread. This dynamic and vibrant bouquet of flowers includes sumptuous roses, as well as a variety of lively flowers. The color tones are showing well in my photos and you can clearly see that the depth of color is exquisite. The black ground really pops the color tones, of which there is no lack of range. This German made petit point case is in unused, well kept condition. All aspects of this case are in proper working order and the clasp closes with a solid snap.   The gold tone hard sided metal case is in solid condition, having no dents or distortions, however, it does have a little subtle age discolor on the metal but nothing naughty at all, in fact, the case looks better than my photo. The golden interior maintains it's original paper label reading ECHT PETIT POINT, which translates to genuine petit point. The work ECHT is of German origin and that is why I believe this was made in Germany. The interior of the cover has enough depth to accommodate a mirror if you chose to add one. The metal bar is also marked, with what looks like HB or KB and I find no info regarding that mark. The interior is well sized for carrying business cards. My card is a bit smaller than some but as you can see, there is plenty of room for a larger card. The backside is covered with a quality reflective black ribbed faille fabric and is perfect. The entire piece is spotless and measures 3¾ from side to side by nearly 2¼ from top to bottom and has a depth of approx. ½ inch. This is a classy and chic petit point case that you will find easy to use and carry in your purse. Please consider adding it to your treasures today, as they are difficult to find really nice ones.
