French Beaded Tambour Embroidered Ladies Powder Compact Not What You're Looking For? Click Here For More Powder Compacts   It's a rare treat to find one of these 1930's - 1940's French all beaded and embroidered ladies powder compacts, as they are quite difficult to acquire and so few are available. This example was hand made in France and even though I find no markings on the piece, I am confident to state that it is a French purse accessory.

This ladies loose powder compact has all the attributes of a French made compact, there really were no others that made these beaded and embroidered compacts. This marvelous compact is comprised of all hand stitch tiny micro jet black beads and is further enhanced with delicate Tambour embroidery in the admired Point de Beauvais stitch. This is a very attractive and elegant compact, having no bead loss, no fading, snags, wears or tears to the exterior. The colors are strong and the gold tone metal case is solid, in good working order, with hinges and closure working as it should. The beading and embroidery are clean and stunning.

The interior has it's lovely original, gently aged, vintage beveled mirror, which shows a good usable reflection. Included is the original powder screen which is in used but stable vintage condition. The interior shows average usage related signs of age but the golden brassy toned metal is undamaged and supports this compact very well. The backside is covered in jet black beading  and is patterned in wavy curvy lines. This French beaded and embroidered ladies powder compact measures nearly 3½ inches from side to side by 2¾ from top to bottom and has a depth of over ½ inch. Please consider this French compact, it will be one of your beloved purse or vanity accessories.
