This compact, and several others that I am currently offering, comes from a prominent New York City petit point collection that I am thrilled to offer you. All items are from Austria, have been properly stored for decades and never used. The stitches on this compact are very, very tiny and must count 40 per inch. The color palette is divine, showing a full spectrum of hues and the black background really makes the scene pop. You will be captivated by the lovely couple, dressed in period clothing, surrounded by lush landscaping on a fenced terrace, with architecture in the background All stitches are intact and secure, no damages, wear or staining. It looks like there is a dropped stitched on the lapel of his jacket but it was a tiny bit of lint that I didn't notice until I saw it in the photos, everything is beautiful and the detailing is quite intricate. 
 The interior is superb with it's beveled mirror, unused puff and screen. The mirror is clear when you look directly into it, no problems applying your powder, but when you hold it away, there are some apparent early signs of clouding. The bright golden brass tone case is delicately etched and the chunky clasp snaps closed as it should. The backside is covered in a shiny black material that has the look and appearance of leather. This striking figural petit point compact measures a generous 3 inches square and is an incredible example of micro petit point.
