I don't exactly know how to describe this rather unusual stitched design so I will let my photos speak for me. The colors are brightly varied and offset well against the off-white, ivory mesh background. The backside is covered with a black fabric and is in perfect condition. The interior has an unused screen and clean thin white cotton powder applicator. The beveled mirror is usable, it's clear when held up to the face but is showing some signs of cloudiness. The silver toned metal case is nicely etched and is signed on the interior, Austria. The clasp works well, push in to open and push in to snap closed. Measuring generously at nearly 3¾ inches in diameter, this lovely vintage Austrian petit point compact shows no discernable aging, save for the mirror. I just love petit point and so will you, these hand made pieces are so unique, each having their own personality.
