silver compact dance purse is stunning,
hard sided domed shape with
adjustable wrist handle and frilly tassel,
interior is two sided with
cigarette or accessory compartment, celluloid page
for writing gentlemen's
names, make-up mirror, rouge and powder in their wells,
front of the case is
beautifully detailed with Art Nouveau vase of flowers,
backside in plain
sterling, all is cleaned and polished for your enjoyment,
minimal denting or
outer flaws, mirror fairly good but has a corner crack,
handle and tassel are
in very fine vintage condition, well attached, secure,

The flapper era brought
forth some really remarkable compact purses,
this example is a wonderful
collector's treat with it's egg shaped celluloid body,
encircled in twinkling rhinestones
and securely wrapped in black cording,
carry handle is enhanced with a
separate celluloid perfume container,
bottom is dressed with a large full and
frilly jet black fabric tassel,
egg twists open to reveal the compact with puff and
powder remains,
tassel likely had a hidden attached lipstick but it is no
longer there,
nonetheless, it's amazing that this compact vanity purse has
survived so well,
a special treasure for any purse collection and in extra fine
well kept condition,
what a wonderful piece, would make a great gift, not likely seen
often if at all,
