This recent acquisition came from a woman who is in her fifties. It was her mothers but since she hadn't worn it in years, she was passing it on to someone who would enjoy it. Her mother was born in 1928, she thought the neckpiece to be approx. 50 years old but of course, it could be older, as she doesn't know if it came from her grandmother originally. I believe my photos do an excellent job of showing it's fine qualities and radiant appearance. The faux pearls are connected to one another with what appears to be thin string. The pearls are a soft white, not a stark bright white but not an ivory either. They look fairly accurate in my photos, they are in very good condition and suffer no yellowing or damages. The 10 clusters of cut and faceted, multi sized iridescent crystals, are especially dynamic and give this bib a vivacious appearance. They just glisten and sparkle with color, all showing very well in my pictures. The rows of pearls connect at the ends with rhinestone embellished silver toned bands of metal. The clasp is an adjustable hook at one end and a single row of pearls at the other, allowing for the perfect fit. All stones are in place and the findings work as they should. The pearl and crystal neck bib measures 13½ inches, the hook adds 1 inch and the single adjustable strand of pearls is 3 inches, for a total of approx. 17½ inches. The choker is formed with a natural curve for fitting around the neck and has been properly stored for many decades. This classic neckpiece is a timeless treasure, I am sure that the admirer of these pearl bibs will love adding this one to their wardrobe accessories.
