These two photos show the same three beads, with the middle and right beads showing the different sides. As you can see, the Millifiori canes of glass are very close together, creating a captivating and alluring art glass necklace. I really like the elongated oval shaped beads, the largest middle bead measures ¾ of an inch in length, nearly a ½ inch in diameter and the beads graduate down to a size of ⅜ of an inch, not too large and not too small. I personally prefer the look of the oval Millifiori beads, they are not as common as the round beads and are generally considered older beads. The colors of these beads are rich and varied, covering the full spectrum. The colors are very deep in tone and will stand out, contrasting impressively with whatever outfit you match it with. The 27 beads on this strand measure to over 17 inches, each bead is filigree capped on the ends, they are hand stung perfectly on a dual colored heavy threading and secured to it's original barrel clasp, which twists together smoothly and snugly. This flapper era strand of Italian Murano Millifiori art glass beads is visibly stunning. I have not cleaned any the metal findings, as I know some prefer the original patina. I've seen none nicer than this strand and it will wear well with a multitude of colors. The necklace is in very good vintage condition, save for a small manufacturing flaw on the largest bead. I never noticed it with my eyes, I felt it before I could see it. Under magnification, it looks like a slightly flattened spot with some roughness but it is smooth to the touch, so easy to overlook and forgive. This is a beautiful and nearly antique piece of jewelry and because these beads are hand made, no two are ever alike.
