It comes from the factory of Moritz Zdekauer, the mark dates the piece to between 1884 and 1909. The artwork is simply charming, I just love pansies and all pieces are highlighted by gild gilt trimming. The set is perfect, no damages or wear, likely never used. The tray is accompanied by 6 matching Bavarian pastry or bread plates from the F. Thomas Porcelain Factory and their mark was used after 1908. It was a common practice for china painters to purchase their blanks from different countries and then put their sets together, as is the case here. The 6 inch plates are as lovely as the tray and what a beautiful set they make. Not many of these large trays are found, add this wonderful set to your china cabinet today, let me know and I'll put it aside for you. More pansy pieces are available, view the RS Silesia covered sugar and creamer, the six Noritake Nippon cups and saucers, the stunning Bavarian cake plate with bow handles, a sweet Buffalo China butter tub, a serving bowl and relish tray and a set of 8 1/2 inch plates.
