Vintage Bavarian Dessert Set, Hand Painted

This Bavarian 7 piece cake set is hand painted and expresses a warm and glowing Christmas spirit, making these sumptuous berries a great selection for your dessert table.

Each plate is characteristically different, as beautiful as the next and is larger than most vintage dessert sets.



    

The artwork is very well executed, the talent of the artist is evident.  Each piece is bordered in gold gilt and the background shadings are lovely, perhaps a bit softer than shown.  The condition is excellent, no damage, no wear, no apparent usage.  

    

The serving charger, as marked in photo #3, is a generous 11 3/4 inches with a 1 1/4 inch rise at the sides. 
The individual plates, mark shown in photo #6,  are nearly 8 inches, all having a slight bowl shape making them perfect for adding ice cream, chocolate syrup or whipped cream.  The company marks date this set to the mid 1900's and the Hutschenreuther family tree connects these two factories.  Every day can seem like a holiday when you blend this dessert cake set with your favorite hand painted pieces.
