This remarkable and sweet little evening bag was hand made in France during a time when distinction and fashion went hand in hand. My photos are very good and represent the purse extremely well. The color palette is peacefully eye-catching with softer tones of blue, pink, coral, green, amber, brown and several other shades. The soft white beads are those tiny little micro beads, some of the smallest I've seen which helps date this purse to 1930 or earlier. Tambour needlework in the Point de Beauvais stitch is a signature embroidery found on many of the Josef bags, a design technique they were very well known for.  
I'm showing many photos of this purse so you can see how cute the shape is and how very different it is compared to most other French evening bags. It's been a couple of years since I have found one in the puffy shape, as there are so few that have survived in this very desirable condition. The metal framing is in the gold tone and the clasp is tipped in ruby rhinestones. If you look up closely, you will see some small age related wear to the gold plating but for the most part, the framing is in very nice respectable condition. The frame is straight and right, opens and closes with a gentle snap. This purse has been professionally cleaned and is in very fine, well kept condition, suffering no losses, snags, fading or other problems that I can detect.
The beading and the embroidery cover the entire purse, sides and bottom and it is all exquisite. The interior ivory satin lining is labeled and has a pocket. The lining did have a darkened stain but after cleaning, it is now just a faint mark, nothing naughty at all, it is in great shape, ready to be carried. Being a smaller size, please don't expect it to carry too many accessories. As photographed, stuffed with tissue, it measures just a wee 3 inches in height, 6¼ inches wide, it has a 4 inch side gusset from front to back and the delicate chain handle drops the purse by 5 inches.
