The peacock is created primarily of cut and faceted Czech or Bohemian glass beads, with smaller round beads for the neck and breast. This combination offers depth and dimension to the beading, very pretty. The color palette is gorgeous, includes multi blue tones, translucent orange, deep cranberry, teal, green, amber and black, all arranged in a dazzling pattern. The looped fringe is generously long, appearing complete and nicely coordinated with the purse. About four fringes in the center are slightly longer, perhaps done intentionally by the beadier to coordinate with the frame that swoops upwards in the center. 
The silver tone fame is another interesting feature of this early 1900's purse. It opens into a square with all four hinges secure and the clasp closes well. As shown in the two photos above, each side has a different embossed design, both expressing the Art Nouveau influence. The purse is very secure to the frame with a white bead at each sew hole, a very thoughtful ingredient, adding more charm to this treasure. 
The original lining and pocket are marvelous, buttery soft, kid like leathery suede. It is in fabulous condition, barely a sign of age. The top trimming is also fine and overall I would rate this purse as superior, very clean, no yellowing to the white beading, well kept and cared for. Measuring 10 inches long by 6 across the frame, the chain drops 4 inches, you will appreciate this piece of artwork and can expect it to look quite a bit nicer in person, photos just didn't do this one justice.
