I have been working with vintage purses long enough to recognize a French beaded coin purse. The style and characteristics specifically express the nature of the beaded evening purses that were hand made in France. Both sides are completely covered in soft white glass seed beads and further enhanced with Tambour needle work in the Pointe de Beauvais stitch. The backside has a single delicate flower, as shown. The golden toned frame is in sound condition, with good hinges, it has some natural patina along with two decorative pierced filigree balls. I believe all my photos do a good job of expressing the colors and details. The clasp is hidden inside the coin purse and snaps closed snugly as it should. Stuffed with tissue it measures 3 in height from the top of the balls to the bottom by 4¾ at it's widest. The side view shows that is does have side gussets so this change purse is a little roomy. The soft white satin lining in in very nice condition showing only gentle use, it is well attached to the frame and the entire purse has been cleaned for you. I find no problems with this vintage French beaded change purse, no wear, bead loss or damages. This would make for a thoughtful gift or a very suitable accessory for that special night out.
