The body of the purse is completely covered with small snowy white glass seed beads and has a magnificent infusion of colorful Tambour embroidery, executed in the Point de Beauvais stitch. The color palette is very pleasing to the eye and includes softer more subtle tones of pink, rose, blues, greens, lavender, golden amber and a few more shades as well. This elegant and expressive designer purse comes from a private collection of purses that were packed away for decades and look to have never been carried. The workmanship and detailing on this purse is identical on both sides and the condition of this purse is all that you could possibly hope for. This purse is basically spotless and clean, inside and out, it is the best that can be offered. Josef has been well known for carrying some of the most fashionable of the French made beaded evening bags and this splendid example is a testimony to that fact. The bead work is in pristine condition, the embroidery suffers no discolor, snags or negatives that I can detect. This purse has a wonderful feel, a medium hand, certainly not too stiff and maintains a solid structured shape. The gold tone frame is bright and shining, as if it were new, showing little to no signs of age. The front of the frame is enhanced with a full row of multi faceted chaton cut rhinestones, each in their own prong setting. All stones look secure and original and they are still full of life. The hand stitched embroidery makes it's way around the purse and is equally as beautiful on all sides. The beadwork and embroidery are in excellent condition and the frame opens and closes as it should. The purse is well attached to the frame at all points, I really can't find a single fault and it does look much nicer and crisper than my photos. This is a very pretty French designer beaded evening bag so don't expect to go unnoticed when you carry this purse, everyone will want to know where you found it. I apologize for the fuzzy photo of the interior but it is as pristine as the remainder of the purse. The satin is of fine quality, there is a pocket with it's Josef label. This handbag comes with a purse accessory that is in it's original cellophane wrapping, never opened. This accessory piece functions like a wallet, there is a place for money on one side and the other side has a beveled make-up mirror. Stuffed with tissue, this elegant purse measures 5 inches in height, 8 inches across the bottom, over 6 inches across the frame, the side gusset is a generous 2 inches and the delicate French chain handle drops the purse by 4½ inches. If you have enjoyed viewing these photos, you will no doubt adore this purse and get many years, if not decades, of pleasure from carrying it. If you are a collector of these fine treasures, you will never regret adding it to your treasury of vintage handbags.
