Sparkling Metallic Iridescent Knit Glass Beaded Purse

I simply adore this little radiant beauty, it's a charismatic and fashionable antique glass knit beaded purse, with a butterfly frame, from the very early 1900's.

The beads on this purse are beautiful, they are alive with sparkle and soft iridescence, giving the blue color somewhat of a metallic effect.

My photos are showing this purse well, including the color but blue is always hard to capture perfect and it could be displaying a little differently on your screen. It's a delightful tone and it has a lot of life. This is a knitted bag, made of cut and faceted glass beads, which shimmer and sparkle, reflecting light and displaying slight iridescent qualities. This purse has been fully restored, that is, it has been professionally cleaned, a fresh thread has been passed through all of the fringes, it has been secured to the frame with new thread and newly re-lined, all for your pleasure.

The silver plated frame is quite appealing with it's intricate filigree metal work and it's rare butterfly clasp. Frames with this characteristic are very difficult to find, so I was thrilled to acquire this one and be able to present it to you, all in exceptional condition. The filigree wraps itself around to the side of the frame and then there is an additional band of metal work. I will add another photo of the side of the frame soon. The entire look is charming, exhibiting a unique style of class and distinction. You won't find any flaw or damage on this purse, I have done everything possible to bring this purse back to it's original grandeur. The fringes are nice and long, measuring between 2 and 2½ inches. The lengths are varied but that it how the purse was made. I did not alter the fringes, I just passed a new thread through them so you would not have to be so concerned about them letting go.

The lining was totally gone, with no sign of it's color, so I chose this shiny, silky, satiny bright silver gray fabric. I had picked up a swatch of it some time ago and felt it was a suitable color that blended well with the beading and the frame. It is very attractive, as well as bright and cheerful. This purse measures approx. 11 inches from the top of the butterfly to the bottom of the fringes; 5½ inches at it's widest; 4 inches across the hinges; 2 inches across the frame;  the top of the frame has 1⅜ inches of side depth and the chain handle drops over 6 inches. I really like this purse, it's in great condition and you will look super carrying it, the color is fabulous and oh so shimmery. If you've been wanting a radiant blue glass antique beaded purse with a butterfly frame, don't hesitate too long, I haven't had one this nice in over a decade. It will look superb in your collection or make for a marvelous gift.
