Several of these pictures were taken with overhead lighting so you could see some of the sparkle on this purse. These glass beads have a magnificent color, a fabulous opulent emerald green tone that has been knit on a forest green background threading. This green on green combination is superb, creating a lush 17 row exterior that is perfect for when only the color green will do. Both sides of this purse are the same and it has been cleaned, including the bright and cheerful silver toned frame. The condition is very good with no significant issues to report and all structural elements are in good working order. I do see 2 small places where a few stitches were taken, to secure a snag no doubt. Although I did not do the mends myself, they look fine and the threading is secured. Neither of these repairs is overly obvious, in fact, they are likely to go easily unnoticed to the average eye. I just noticed, on the right side of the frame, a stitch is missing in 2 of the sew holes on the frame. You can count on me to run a fresh dark green double thread around the entire frame, making sure the purse and lining are securely attached. As you can see, the silver toned frame has a lovely embossed design of flowers and leaves. This purse maintains it's original light olive green fabric lining and trimming. It is looking very vintage but there are no tears or stains to report. If you would like a new silk lining sewn into the purse and trimmed like the original, I am proficient at replacing linings and will be happy to do that for a fee, however, I can't always match the original color or you may prefer a different color. This vintage hand knit swag beaded purse measures a little larger than usual, as follows: 8¾ inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom, 6 inches across the frame, the purse flares out to 8½ inches and the chain handle drops 6½ inches. Although this purse is somewhat bigger than many swags, the lining is about 1½ inches shorter than the beaded portion of the purse, this was a common practice, designed to avoid women carrying too much stuff and stretching the bottom of the bag. As a result, this purse has kept a very nice original shape, as intended. If you have been wanting to add an emerald green vintage beaded handbag to your wardrobe accessories, please consider this beautiful example.
