My photos show the deep maroon background very well, especially in the close-ups but the blues are actually darker in tone and overall this purse may not be quite as stark bright as is showing, except for the fringe. The peacock is perched atop a branch that incorporates cut French silver steel beads. The fringe work is marvelous, very lush and complete, the color is a magnificent golden tone with black at the tips. Now they were weakened from age, so I re-enforced each strand for your pleasure, no worries here.
The frame has a delicate embossed design with a center shield that is suitable for engraving your initials. It also has a soft subtle gold tone wash that is not showing well in the photos. The purse is identical on both sides with the exception that the peacock is facing in the opposite direction.
The lining was gone so I re-lined with a vintage gold silk and trimmed in black. This color scheme pulls together very well with the colors in the fringe. Measuring 10 by 6 1/4 inches wide with the chain dropping over 7 inches, this antique peacock beaded purse will make a great addition to your collection and the condition is marvelous.
