Trust in the Lord and do good, have great pleasure in knowing Him and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 137:3-4

During my earlier adult years, I doubted God's existence.  I talked to Him all the time but He never seemed to answer.  The problem was I had deaf ears and to make things even worse, I was also blind.  I couldn't see the evidence or the ways of God so how could I know He was real and since His Word was not in my heart, I couldn't hear Him either.

I was born into a religion that did not advocate the study of the Bible nor promote the need to develop a personal relationship with God.  It taught that I could earn my way into heaven while on earth or after I died, the living could pray and ask God to let me in.  That sounded great, I could have my cake and eat it too but why would God let me into heaven at anytime if I never knew Him.  I mean, would you welcome a total stranger into your family and share all you have with them including your children and possessions?  Oh, I know, you would do it if another stranger asked you to do it?

The day I picked up the Bible and read what God has to say about it was the best day of my life.  Lots of people say to me, "How can you read the Bible, it was only written by a bunch of men, you're nuts to believe that stuff."  Well I suppose that's true. Today, many authors have ghost writers that do the actual writing for them but it's still the author that directs the words.  God selected a special group of men to write His every Word in the Bible just exactly the way He wanted it to read but He is still the author of the Bible.  And yes, I am nuts about the Lord and all His ways.

I challenge you to read the Bible for a short thirty minuets each day for a month, perhaps start in the New Testament, it's a bit easier.  If you want to know God, there's no way that He will leave you unsatisfied, although you may very well thirst for more of Him.

Trusting God or anyone else for that matter, comes from a loving and long nurturing relationship with that person.  God so desires to have that with you.

The Holy Bible teaches to trust in the unseen, the truths that science cannot disprove.... that God forgives sin.... that Jesus paid the punishment for sin.... that Jesus was resurrected from the grave just as we will be .... that God is preparing a place for us, where we will live with Him forever.

God's grace and mercy enables me to believe and have faith in His Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I have great pleasure in knowing Him, I want to follow His good ways and I trust He will someday give me the desires of my heart.

I pray you will come to know and trust in the Lord, thank you and may God draw you near to Him,
Carol
