I suspect that it originally may have been made to hold cigarettes, although no evidence of that is apparent, nor any scent. Sitting on four round ball feet, this box is in very fine vintage condition with no flaws, just a bit of aged patina but certainly not offensive considering it's age, ca. 1930's. The stones are all lovely and in solid form and the filigree decorations atop the cover are splendid. This solid box with sturdy hinges measures 4 inches by 3 3/4 by 2 1/4 in depth with the cover a bit larger and the interior is 3 5/8 by 3 inches. You will love adding this treasure to your collection.
