I have to show you lots of photos because I don't want you to pass these pieces by without giving your attention and consideration. I haven't seen this type of work in a long time, untouched for decades, properly stored away and appearing pristine. Each of the 96 scalloped linen squares is approximately 2 & 3/4 inches, each is meticulously embroidered with the finest ecru/beige detail. Each square is then beautifully hand crocheted with a perfectly executed border and each piece is crocheted together to form the desired size. The 11 pieces represent two sets, one in an ivory tone and another in a soft antiqued white.
The sets and pieces measure as follows: the ivory set has 4 pieces at 11 & 1/2 in length by 7 & 1/2 in width and 2 pieces at 15 in length by 11 in width (probably arm and head rests for two side chair); the antiqued white set has 2 pieces at 11 & 1/2 in length by 7 & 1/2 in width and 3 pieces at 15 in length by 11 in width (probably arm and head rests for a sofa). I find no faults to mention about these pieces, I only wish I had more of them. These are truly wonderful and if you have a use for them, don't hesitate, they are delightful and will surely add charm and character to whatever room they are placed in.
