I'm showing you lots of photos, this is workmanship that I do not see very often. I am not sure of the name of the pattern, I have nothing like it displayed in my lace and linens book. It is quite pretty however and it is in very nice condition, respectfully kept, only gently used with no wears or tears. It appears to have been mildly starched before it was stored away. The crocheted work is done in an antiqued ivory tone but I have the feeling that if it was hand laundered, it would brighten up a bit but everything is totally usable as is.
The pattern allows for your furniture to show off it's rich color but still properly protect the wood. It's sort of a pin wheel style pattern with lots of open spaces. The pieces measure as follows: 1 long runner at 46 in length by 14 in width; 1 medium scarf at 29 in length by 15 in width; 1 small scarf at 18 in length by 10 in width and 2 smaller doilies at 12 in length by 9 in width. This is a very interesting and versatile set that will add an alluring quality to whatever room it graces.
